TiefenMoors: or 'deep' Moors. These are extremely rare. They are deposits of herbs, plants and flowers that have been submerged deep beneath the ground as the result of major geological transformations. They are the oldest type of Moor, have tremendous therapeutic value, and are totally protected from any environmental influences.
HochMoors: or 'high' Moors - these tend to be composed mainly of trees and grasses and are generally quite 'young'. They have little therapeutic value.
FlachMoors: or 'flat' Moors - these have a higher concentration of plants and flowers. They are usually formed in basins of non-porous rock. They are older and have great therapeutic value but are exposed to environmental pollution from the air and rain.
